NYEPI AT INARA ALAS HARUM: A SACRED DAY OF SILENCE

Nyepi, the Balinese Day of Silence, is a profound cultural and spiritual tradition marking the Saka New Year. Unlike typical celebrations, this sacred day is observed with 24 hours of complete stillness—no lights, no travel, and no activity—allowing time for deep reflection and renewal.

The eve of Nyepi, known as Pengerupukan, is celebrated with the vibrant Ogoh-Ogoh parade on March 28, 2025. During this mesmerizing event, towering effigies representing negative energies are carried through the streets in a symbolic purification ritual, cleansing the island before Bali enters a peaceful pause.

In 2025, Nyepi falls on March 29, beginning at 6:00 AM and concluding at 6:00 AM on March 30. During this time, the entire island embraces silence, creating an atmosphere of unparalleled tranquility.

At Inara Alas Harum, this special occasion offers an opportunity to embrace stillness in an oasis of serenity. Nestled in the lush village of Bresela, our resort provides the perfect retreat to experience Nyepi in harmony with nature.
